FALL & WINTER INDOOR LEAGUE
In the fall and winter, Achievelax offers youth and high school girls’ lacrosse teams and individual players the opportunity to participate in indoor leagues at two convenient locations – Canton Sportsplex, and Starland Sportsplex in Hanover. Multiple sessions are offered at each location to accommodate busy schedules! Teams can submit a roster to the League Director or players can register as free agents and be placed on a team.
Taken from an excerpt from an InsideLacrosse.com article written by Michael Kennett:
“‘Indoor lacrosse is an extremely valuable background for a young player,’ said [Syracuse Lacrosse Coach, Dom] Starsia. ‘We need to incorporate more of the indoor skills in to the field game.’ Indoor lacrosse is played in a much smaller space than its field counterpart. That space restriction creates a much faster tempo and requires quicker decision-making. Players in the indoor game grow more accustomed to handling the ball and scoring in traffic…This sharpens a player’s ability to react and you find that players with indoor experience, in many cases, have superior stick skills than those who have never played the [indoor] game before.””
SPRING CLUB LEAGUE
In the Spring, Achievelax offers a 7-week youth lacrosse league for town, club, or select teams that want an additional opportunity to play throughout the spring and be challenged against strong competition. Spring League games are conveniently held at either Union Point Sports Complex in Weymouth, Marlborough Forekicks in Marlborough, or Bedford Edge Sports Complex in Bedford. Spring League games are held on Saturday afternoons and typically starts in April and ends the third week in May!
